Gallery Spotlight: Chambers Fine Art

Founded in 2000 by Christophe Mao, Chambers Fine Art is known for representing both established and emerging contemporary Chinese artists. In 2007, Chambers opened its Caochangdi space to better serve its artists, and in 2014, the gallery joined Artsy to take advantage of an international audience of collectors.
Representing artists like Ai Weiwei, Zhao Zhao, and Pixy Yijun Liao, Chambers Fine Art strives to place its artists’ works in collections around the globe. Gallery director Dan Chen notes that “it’s an important part of our mission not only to introduce our artists to the global audience, but to establish them in the international marketplace.” With over 1 million users from more than 190 countries, Artsy has helped Chambers Fine Art bring the work of its artists to established collectors who are new to the contemporary Chinese art market. Watch Chambers Fine Art’s Gallery Spotlight video and hear Dan Chen share what he’s learned from being on Artsy.
